Banks Mansion opened Spring 2004. Without any doubt, this location on the corner of the Herengracht and the Vijzelstraat, is one of the best of Amsterdam.

A new luxury opened its doors in April 2004. Banks Mansion is situated on the Herengracht in a former bank building and has been transformed into a four star plus "with a personal touch" where old fashioned values and hospitality are the priority. A combination of specific Old Amsterdam Design and modern comfort. Inspiration for the interior design were Berlage, the Amsterdams School and Frank Lloyd Wright. The guest will immediately experience a feeling of authentic Amsterdam design with today's comfort.

This atmosphere carries through to the 51 guest rooms. All rooms are fully equipped with wireless internet, air-conditioning, LCD TV and stereo with DVD player. Some bathrooms have steam showers others bubble baths. All showers are of the Rain Dance shower type. Most rooms joy an impressive view of the Herengracht Based on the philosophy that guests at Banks Mansion should feel at home, we are introducing "Back Home".

Almost all facilities are inclusive: use of the private bar in the guest room as well as the snacks and drinks in "The Living", a morning paper with your complimentary breakfast, unlimited use of the internet, tv and video channels. Banks Mansion provides an especially furnished lounge designed in the theme of the Amsterdam School called "The Living" where the guest will feel at home. In the comfortable armchairs in front of the open fire you can joy a drink while reading one of various international newspapers and magazines or network with other guests. In "The Kitchen" a delicious breakfast will be prepared and served to you on demand from an open kitchen. A great way to start your day! Collect your email or surf the internet in "The Business Corner" and joy views on the water traffic on the Herengracht at the same time. Also to see is the official residence of the Mayor of Amsterdam.

Obviously many of the 51 guestrooms look out over the magnificent canal. Stained-glass elements in the guestrooms give the rooms a warm, colourful and intimate atmosphere. A unique and surprising interior, which at the same time reflects an authentic Amsterdam-atmosphere. Besides the special interior, rooms are provided with a broad range of modern accessories including air-conditioning, wireless internet, a television with LCD screen, a DVD player and stereo. Coming from Schiphol Airport / The Hague / Zaandam

A10; direction Amsterdam.
Exit number S106.
At the end of the exit turn left, direction 'Centrum'.
At the 3rd traffic lights you drive straight on across the bridge. (keep left lane)
Across the bridge you turn left and drive down the "Overtoom".
At the end of the "Overtoom" you turn right onto the "Stadhouderskade".
At the 2nd traffic light you stay on the left lane.
When you pass the Rijksmuseum on you right hand side, you turn left at the 2nd traffic light. You are on a roundabout (Weteringcircuit).
Go straight on, going down the Vijzelgracht that name changes into the Vijzelstraat after 400M.

You will find the Banks Mansion at the corner of the Herengracht and the Vijzelstraat.

Coming from Utrecht / Amersfoort

A2; direction Amsterdam.
At the end of highroad A2 at the traffic lights turn to the right .
(Exit number S110 President Kennedylaan).
Follow the left curve onto the Amsteldijk.
At the end you turn left onto the Stadhouderskade (S100).
Go straight on the Stadhouderskade until you see the Heineken Brewery on your left-hand side.
At the Heineken Brewery you turn right at the traffic lights (Weteringlaan).
You are on a roundabout (Weteringcircuit).
Go straight on, going down the Vijzelgracht which name changes into the Vijzelstraat after 400 M.

You will find the Banks Mansion at the corner of the Herengracht and the Vijzelstraat.

The hotel is surrounded by some of Amsterdam's most well-known points of interest. Within a one-minute walk you will reach the Floating Flower Market, the bustling Rembrandt's Square and the most famous shopping street in the Netherlands, "The Kalverstraat". A few minutes further will bring you to the canals, most of the city's museums, Madame Tussauds, Dam Square and the Royal Palace. In short, the city lies at your feet!

Parking: There are various car parks in and arround the city centre area. The nearest car park is the City Hall/Music Theatre (Stadhuis/Muziektheater). Municipal parking rates apply. At the reception desk Banks Mansion supplies 24 hour parking tickets, which enables you to park as close to the hotel as possible.

Public transportation: From Amsterdam Central Station you can use tram 16,24,25. At stop number 4 "Keizersgracht" you get out. Walk 50 meters back and you will find the hotel on the right corner of the canal.

Airport Shuttle Bus: The Shuttle bus departs from and to Schiphol Airport every half hour and stops in front of Banks mansion. Tickets available in the bus and at the reception desk.
