Café: Oldest café in Amsterdam
On the corner of the Martelaarsgracht and the Prins Hendrikkade you will find the Café Karpershoek. According to the records, the Karpershoek opened in 1606, thus becoming the oldest café in Amsterdam. Since begin 2005 the Café Karpershoek has been operated by the owners of the Bellevue Hotel, EMB Hotels Group. Behind the bar you will find classic Dutch bartenders, who love to tell (and hear) a good story. They are excited to serve you a foamy Heineken beer, or other refreshing drink, and answer any questions you might have.

Location and Route Description
By Car
From the A10 (ringroad Amsterdam) you take turn S103 'Haarlem'.
At the end of the turn you turn right.
You are now on the Haarlemmerweg to the Centre of Amsterdam.
At the Haarlemmerplein (the end of the Haarlemmerweg) you turn left and then right to the Haarlemmer Houttuinen.
After the fourth traffic lights you turn right to the Martelaarsgracht.
The hotel is situated on your left at house number 10.

From Schiphol airport you can easily reach the hotel in the following ways:
By train
Costs: ± Euro 4,00 per person, single journey.
Travelling time to Amsterdam Central Station ± 20 minutes.
From Amsterdam Central Station you can walk (5 minutes), or take tram number 1/2/5 (When you leave the station through the main entrance you will find the tram stop on your right-hand side).
Get off at the first stop: Nieuwezijds Kolk.
Walk back 200 meters and you will find the hotel on your left-hand side on house number 10.
The easiest way to buy a ticket for the tram is at the ticket office of NS.
